What does verb ending 라 do, is it formal or is casual?
Conjugation: conjugated without 요 +라, 여(if verb stem ends with 이, not contracted rule replace 이)
읽다 + 라 = 읽어라
책을 읽어라. “Read the book.”
자다 + 라 = 자라 일찍 자라 Go to sleep early.”
기다리다 + 이라 = 기다려라

ㄹ/을/x 거예요 can be any form and is more determined, common way
ㄹ/을/x 게요 can be declarative only and is more personal and immediate statement of person’s will
