Leaf And Photosynthesis Flashcards
Photosynthesis
Photosynthesis is the process that produces food implants the food is glucose it happens in all green leaves plants it also convert light energy into chemical energy which is stored in glucose this chemical energy is released when glucose is broken down during respiration
Photosynthesis equation
6CO2 + 6H2O = C6H2O6 + 6O2
Carbon dioxide + water = glucose + oxygen
Leaves are adapted for photosynthesis
Leaves abroad so there is a large surface area exposed to the light
Most of the Chloroplasts are found in the Palaside layer so they can get light
The upper epidermis is transparent so light to pass through it to the Palaside layer
Carbon dioxide
Two little carbon dockside will slow it down as with light intensity increases in the concentration of CO2 will only increase the photosynthesis up to a point after this it flashes out
Light
Not enough light slows down the rate of photosynthesis.
Chlorophyll uses light energy to perform photosynthesis and if the light intensity is increased photosynthesis will increase steadily
Temperature
The temperature has to be just right. As the temperature increases the rate of photosynthesis does as well if the temperature is too high plants enzymes will denature
