How to become a monk
First become postulant - spending time living at the monastery while not being bound by vows and free to leave at any time
After this period the postulant becomes a novice monk or nun for around a year during which he/she begins to participate fully in the monastery
After this the novice takes temporary vows and after a few years they make their permanent vows which are binding for life

After being accepted as a candidate the potential priest goes to a special training college called a seminary for between 6-9 years depending on his educational background to prepare for priesthood
During this time the potential priest takes a degree in philosophy, theology or ethics

Canonization - approval of 2nd miracle, causes of saints examine miracle, holy father approves decree, holy father decides date of canonization
