The font is as wooden or stone bowl which contains water which is used in the case of infant baptism. It usually stands just inside the door of the church.

What are the stained glass windows?
A
In the days before many people could read or write stained glass windows were used to teach them stories from the Bible or about the lives of the saints. They were an early, and important, teaching-aid.
