what happens if a team has fewer than seven players because one or more players has deliberately left the field
the referee is not obliged to stop play and the advantage mat be played, but the match may not resume after the ball has gone out of play if the team does not have the minimum of seven players
To replace a player with a substitute the following must be observed:
the referee must be informed before any substitution is made
the player leaving must receive the referee’s permission before leaving the field by the nearest point on the boundary line.

any player may change places with the gk if:
the ref is informed before the change is made

What happens if a named substitute starts a match instead of a named player and the ref is not informed?
the ref allows the named sub to carry on
no disciplinary action is taken against the named substitute
the named player (who didn’t start) can become a named sub
the number of subs is not reduced
Most importantly, the ref reports the incident after the game
What happens if a player changes with the gk WITHOUT the ref’s permission?
Play is continued
Both players are cautioned when the ball next goes out of play but not if the change occurred during half time and between extra time or penalties
A player is sent off before the team sheet submission, what happens?
They cannot be named on the team list in any capacity
A player is sent off after being named on the team sheet but before kick off, what happens?
he or she may be replaced by a named sub, the sub cannot be replaced
A named sub is sent off before kick off, what happens
the sub cannot be replaced
What is an outside agent?
Anyone not named on the team list as a player, sub or team official
what happens if a team official, sub, sent off player of outside agent enters the field of play?
The ref should only stop play if there is interference with play
have the person removed when play stops
not if someone accidentally steps on field - use common sense
what happens if a team official, sub, sent off player interferes with play?
Play restarts with a direct free kick or penalty kick
What happens if an outside agent interferes with play?
Play is resumed with a drop ball
What happens if a goal is scored with an extra person on the field of play when a goal was scored and the extra person interfered with play?
The ref disallows the goal if:
anyone on the team sheet was of the team who scored and play is restarted with a direct free kick from the position of the extra person
