Advantages of law commission

A

A lot of legal,non-political expertise. Thorough investigations
Independent body so not just what the government want.
Drafts bill for government based on commissions findings

Disadvantages of the law commission

A

Many recommendations (about1/3) are not implemented.
Lack of power.
Can be years before a report is produced.
Investigates more than 1 at a time so lengthy researches.
