what is the act?

what is the aim and purpose of the act?
the increase safety of children in communities by helping prevent people who have criminal history to gain positions that work with children
what is an effect of the act on children?
children are protected from harm
what is an effect of the act on families?
families can be confident that when they leave their children in an organisations care, they will be safe
what is an effect of the act on communities?
the whole community benefits, parents are more likely to allow children to join sporting and recreation organisations and it leaves a sense of confidence in the community
what are laws?
rules that are created by legitimate authority that apply to all members of a society
what are sanctions?
penalties or other means of enforcement applied when a rule or law is disobeyed
what is social cohesion?
when members of a community operate harmoniously with each other and share common ideals and respect for the law
