Spanish wiped out Aztecs in Mexico. Spain gains control of Portugal and Brazil wiping out 90 percent of poor cultures. Happened in 1500s but Catholics don’t write about it until 1550. Spanish Conquistadors also wipe out Mayans by bringing black slaves into culture which caused disease and warfare.

The Spanish brought it over and Europeans gave them money for it so they could spread Christian ideals. They changed theatre and used Latin American theaters to be manipulative so they could replace indigenous religions and theaters with Christian ones.

It was used to convert new people and use new converts to act going everywhere with its performances. Eventually did away with indigenous theatre.
