What year does the Bracero Program start?

Why does the Bracero Program start?
Need to increase production of agricultural goods, but agricultural workers are enlisting in WWI.
(Lacking workers.)
What are the agreements that the US and MX governments come to?
Allow Mexicans to legally enter into and work in the country in designated areas to work in agriculture. Bracero program will not depress wages. Not take job of Americans. TX will not participate. All other southwestern states will.
What year does the Bracero Program end?
1964.

Make trips to each company to ensure that all conditions that were previously agreed upon were being implemented.

What was a major problem for the Braceros?
The US govt. would take social security out of their paychecks, but because the Braceros were not retiring in the US, they wanted their money back.
What was the process that the Braceros had to go through to get their money back?
Hire an attorney to contact the US govt. and request the money, US claims they sent it to MX, MX claims they don’t have it, US sends proof that they sent it to MX, MX demand Braceros bring pay stubs to be reimbursed. (By now the process has been going on for decades, 30+ years.)
What did the MX govt, finally do?
They set aside $26.6 million to divide among the Braceros, but could only go to the Bracero, not his/her family.
How many Braceros were actually accepted and reimbursed?
80,000.
What were the stations that the Mexicans registered for the Bracero Program called?
Centros.
