What is Laryngeal paralysis
A
Is degeneration of the nerves that control the muscles that open and close the larynx - Laryngeal cartilage + vocal cords to lie medially, narrowing the laryngeal lumen and are unable to be opened during breathing

It can be both bilateral or lateral

Clinical signs
A
- exercise intolerance
- excessive panting
- poor bark quality

What two procedures are done to fix this?
A
- Arytenoid Lateralisation Laryngoplasty (Tie-Back) & Tracheostomy
