Bias
A prejudice in a general or specific sense. Having a preference to one particular point of view.
Audience
The selected audience for a selection/visual may vary.
Cliche
A overused phrase.
Coherence
The quality which makes it easy for reader to follow the writers train of thought.ways coherence is created:
Parallelism:using the same pattern of words to show that 2+ ideas have the same level of importance.
Pronoun Reference:using pronoun reference for key nouns.
Repetition:repeating key words and phrases or recognizable synonyms for key words.
Transitions:using conjunctive adverbs or thought connecting words.
Sequence:arranging the sequence of events in some perceivable order.
Comparison
Used to identify similarities and differences between 2+ things.
Contrast
Examining 2+ items by only looking at their differences.
Emphatic Device
Used by authors to emphasize an idea.
Listing:numerical order,bullets,sequencing…
Font:bold,italics,unusual capitalization,underlining…
Punctuation:show breaks in thought and shifts in tone.colon,dash,brackets…
Repetition:repeated use of the same word or word pattern.
Sentence Fragments:an incomplete sentence that can be missing a subject or verb.
Short Sentence:very simple sentence.
Language Style
The characteristic ways that an individual author uses language.
Jargon:words or expressions used by a particular group or profession.
Colloquial:language characteristic of everyday informal speech.
Dialect:the way a language is spoken in a particular region or place.
Euphemisms:a less offensive way of saying negative.
Formal:polite,respectful, and following particular conventions.
Informal:less strict grammar rules and often has shortened sentences.
Slang:an informal nonstandard variety of speech characterized by newly coined and rapidly changing words and phrases.
Transitions
Transitional words are used to connect the sections of the text.helps create coherence.
Logical:shows the logical connection between 2 ideas.
Spatial:has the function to restrict,limit or qualify space.
Temporal/chronological:has the function of limiting restricting, and defining time.

The personality of the speaker or creator that is revealed in a work through such elements as tone,style,diction…
