Macron

Subject
In a sentence, the person or thing performing an action or being described.
Independent Clause
The combination of a subject and a verb to express a complete thought.

Dependent Clause
A clause that includes a subordinating conjunction but which does not express a complete thought.
Noun
A class of words that function as a name, often of people, places, things or ideas.
Pronoun
A class of words that take the place of a noun within a sentence.
Signal Verb
A verb used to indicate the manner in which dialogue is expressed, or to introduce a quote in academic writing.
Subordinating Conjunction
A class of words used to introduce a dependent clause and connect it to an independent clause.
