Simile

What is Metaphor and give example?
Metaphor
Figure of speech in which a word or phrase is applied to an object or action to which it is not literally applicable.
Eg - “Heart of gold, that party was bomb”
What is Personifcation and give example?
Personification is giving human like qualities to non humans or objects
Example - “Wind whispered through the trees”
What is Juxtaposition and give example?
Juxtaposition is When two things that are generally very opposite are placed next to each other, creating a stark contrast.
What is Onamatopeia and give example?
Onamatopeia - Word that allows readers to hear exactly what is sounds like
Eg -Pop, Bang
What is Hyperboleand give example?
Hyperbole - The deliberate exaggeration of a topic for emphasis or humor
What is Assonance and give example?
Assonance is like alliteration but emphasises vowel sounds being repeated.
Eg - “Cya later skater”
