All languages have rules that are understood and used by the speaker and listener.

By following these rules, we can understand each other.

These rules are referred to as grammar.

Q

What is phonology?

A

It is when languages have a sound system.

Phonemes are the sounds used in language (basic units of words).

Babbling develops into phonemes.

Children have to tune in to the phonemes and then make the phonemes of the language they’re exposed to.

The development of their teeth and muscles in their mouth can impact their pronunciation of many sounds.
