- Traditionally leases have been long and landlords have had all the power within a lease.
- However, leases are getting shorter (now the average lease length is less than 7 years)
- This makes it more like a business
- Landlords need to try to retain clients
- Have to engage more
- Service Charge is becoming more like a tax
- In order to remain competitive it is good to maintain good relationships with tenants
