Landing Gear Flashcards
How many pins are removed before flight from the landing gear and door system?
Six (6): three (3) gear, three (3) gear door
Do not lower the landing gear utilizing the alternate system at speeds in excess of:
175 knots
What are the gear extension speeds?
Gear - 225 (extension) 250 KCAS once down
During preflight, a gear uplock is closed. What action should you perform?
- Pin the gear door valve OPEN
- Turn on external battery switch at Left Front Access panel
- Actuate the AUX pump at the Right Front access panel until the gear door and unlocks open
- Remove gear door pin
- Actuate the AUX pump again until the gear door closes

If the landing gear fails to retract, you should:
- NOT RETARD the throttles to IDLE in flight
- UNARM the Ground Spoilers
If the landing gear fails to extend, what action may reset the extension mode of operation?
- Verify the Emergency Landing Gear handle is fully down
- Pressing the DUMP valve switch to provide an alternate electrical path for the gear extension control circuit
If the landing gear fails to retract, what action must be performed to prevent landing with 400 lbs of applied brake pressure (Wheel despin brakes)?
Press and hold the DUMP valve for three (3) seconds
Which “Down and Locked Indication” has precedence over the other, the Landing Gear Control Panel OR the Landing Gear indication on the Flight Control Synoptic?
The Landing Gear Control Panel
Is there an Alternate Landing Gear Extension procedure?
YES, Using the Emergency Landing Gear Handle (EMERGENCY BLOWDOWN)
What is the Emergency Landing Gear Nitrogen Bottle Pressure?

What does an illuminated GEAR HANDLE light mean during gear retraction?
The Landing Gear and/or Gear Doors are NOT retracted (up and locked)
When will the GEAR HANDLE light extinguish during gear extension?
When the landing gear is down and locked (gear door position is NOT considered)
If the LANDING GEAR IS NOT EXTENDED, when will the Landing Gear Warning HORN sound?
- Anytime the Flaps are selected more than 22 degrees (FLAPS >22)
