Landing Gear Flashcards
Which hydraulic system powers the NWS?
Yellow System.
Above what speed is the steering tiller disabled?
Above 80kts.
What happens if both steering tillers are moved at the same time?
Movements are added together and the result applied to the NWS.
What are the different types of braking available?
Normal brakes with anti-skid on the Green System. Alternate brakes with or without anti-skid on the Yellow System. Hydraulic accumulator pressure only.
At what speed does the rudder disconnect from the NWS?
130kts
How many full braking applications are provided by accumulator braking?
7 Applications.
When does MAX autobrake function?
When the thrust levers are closed and speed at least 72kts.
When will the DECEL light illuminate during the landing roll?
When the braking reaches 80% of the selected rate.
How does anti-skid function?
Wheel speed is maintained to the point just above an impending skid. Disabled below 20kts.
What is the tyre limiting speed?
195kts.
How many LGCIU required, you see one red and one green, can you land?
FCOM Aircraft Sys 32 L/G - Yes as long as one green triangle is illuminated for each wheel.
Explain the Autobrake function.
MAX - is normally selected for takeoff. In the case of an RTO, maximum pressure goes to the brakes as soon as ground spoilers deployed. MED - sends progressive pressure to the brakes 2s after spoilers deploy to decelerate at 3m/s. LOW - sends progressive pressure 2s after spoilers deploy to decelerate at 2m/s.
