s55 (1) land act
Bed of water body does not pass to person acquiring the grant (even if colored on a map) unless there is an express provision to the contrary.
s55(2) land act
no act or rule of law can give person right to the bed or shore of the body of water below the natural boundary (ie ad medium rule extinguished)
s55(3) land act
land forfeitted to gov without a map or coloration that describes the land is deemed not to include bed or foreshore.
s55(4) of land act
if crown grants waterfront land it does not include bed or shore below water natural boundary unless expressly stated.
s56(1) of land act
s55 applies regardless of area shown on the crown grant or on official plan.
s56(2) of land act
doesnt affect rights determined by courts before march 27 1961
doesnt affect right of people who have a title issued prior to march 27 1961 that specifically includes bed of water coloured, outlined, or designated on the map or a plan attached to a crown grant
Doesnt affect owner of subdivision that deposited plan before march 27th 1961 if the plan includes the body of water colored, outlined, or otherwise designated in a colour other than red or a map or plan attached to crown grant.
