Adhesives are applied to the face of each veneer.
Veneers are stacked.
Veneers are clamped inside a die, with a male and female part.
Adhesive dries and the clamp is released.
Product is trimmed.
What are the advantages of laminating?
Suitable for one-off batch and mass production
Can accommodate for a range of thicknesses
It creates strong and lightweight components
It can be combined with other materials to enhance properties such as snowboards.
What are the disadvantages of laminating?
It involves many steps and cutting veneers.
Lots of finishing is required at the end.
Restricted to bends in a single direction.
