How is lady Macbeth presented?
She is a strong women who at the start of the of the play has to help Macbeth make decisions
However this is going against the natural order so she is punished with feeling guilt
What is lady macbeths purpose in the text?
To show the role of men and women in the 16th century
She breaks the chain of being, so she is punished by God
How does lady Macbeth develop?
At the start of she is very strong, supposed to be a typical male role
She then gets left out of Macbeth’s plans
However at the end she is paying for going against the natural order, and goes mad
What do we learn about lady Macbeth’s relationships?
She is close to Macbeth’s at the start, ‘greatest partner’
However as Macbeth becomes more independent she is left out
When she dies Macbeth says she should of died later, and had no sadness with her death
