Assist with rescue. Ventilate the fire area from exterior.
Tools - Halligan, 6’ hook
*For top floor fires, saw is taken in place of hook.

OLT - 2nd Due - Inside Team
Door of the apartment directly over the fire apt.
*For Top Floor Fires, CAN should take 2 hooks in lieu of the can.

Front of Fire Building. If not needed here, go above fire when teamed with 2nd OV.
*Top Floor fires if not needed in front, go to roof

- Conduct outside survey with OV.
- If no outside operations, WCD or LSR evolutions are indicated, team-up with 2nd chauffeur and proceed to roof.
- Check the condition of the hallway on the top floor, and all stairways leading to the roof for the presence of smoke and victims
HRFPMD - 2nd Due - Inside Team
- Ensure ALL Elevators are recalled and searched
- Control vent in areas other than the Fire Apt as directed by the IC
- Search of public hall and maintain the evac stair doors closed on the fire floor.
- Search of attack stair 5 floors above Fire Floor
HRFPMD - 2nd Due - OV
- If no outside ops, secure another fireman service elevator
- If no fireman service, team up with inside team.
- If building has service elevator that can be safely used, notify IC and operate w/ building personnel.
HRFPMD - 2nd Due - LCC
- If outside ops, team w/ 2nd OV
- If NO outside ops, team w/ 1st LCC
- If LSR or WCD ops in progress, assist w/ same
HRFPMD - 3rd Ladder Company
- Report to ICP in lobby.
- Confirm the EVAC stairways door closed on fire floor.
- Generally used to conduct searches of stairways and hallways above the fire sector w/ SAE Group Supervisor.

- Proceed to Apt Directly over Fire Apt. w/ KO curtain
HRFPMD - 4th Ladder Company
Assist searches on upper floors and stairs as per IC
HRFPMD - FAST Unit and CFR Engine
Assigned to Fire Sector when fire above 6th Floor.
Can be staged on Floor Below Fire.
6th floor or below determined by IC

- If LSR needed proceed to roof to assist
- No LSR, place ladder to Top Floor and VEIS w/ 2nd LCC or other available member.
- When fire denies use of interior stair & NO rear FE, top floor VEIS is MANDATORY.
- For TOP FLOOR FIRE, raise aerial to roof of exposure for roof and OV who will be going to roof of fire bldg.
Brownstone - 1st Due OV
- Assist LCC in front if need for laddering or rescue
- Check rear
- When unable to team up in rear, return to front to VEIS top floor w/ LCC
- Take saw to roof for top floor fire.

- Assist LCC w. aerial setup
- Go to roof w/ Halligan, Halligan Hook & LSR
- Access to Roof - 1st Aerial, 2nd Aerial, Easiest Adjoining Bldg.

- Place aerial in PTO for use of 2nd Due Roof

- For TOP FLOOR FIRES, Go to roof or an exposure as directed by their officer.

- Bring Halligan & Halligan Hook - NO LSR
- Take saw & Halligan Hook for Top Floor Fire

- Remain at pedistal
* When basket is used for roof access, SAW & LSR are placed in basket.
Brownstone - 1st Due - TL - OV
- Operates as basket firefighter
- Waits for completion of roof size up before repositioning to the fire floor.
- After venting fire floor, reposition to top floor for VEIS and team with roof FF or other available member
Brownstone - 1st Due - TL - Roof
- Proceed to roof via (1) Basket, (2) 2nd Aerial or (3) Adjoining Bldg.
- Bring LSR & SAW (placed in basket)
- After completing roof duties, team with 1st OV for top floor VEIS
Brownstone - 2nd Due - TL - LCC
-When 1st arriving is a TL, LCC can examine exposures, assist w/ roof ops or team up w/ another member if needed.

-When 1st arriving is a TL, the rear is covered by the 2nd Due OV.

- 3 Window Front, Wait for Roof sizeup and VEIS Top Floor when teamed w/ another member

- Top Floor Fire - BRING SAW
Rowframe - 1st Due Roof
- Roof of Fire Building via 1st Due Aerial, 2nd Due Areial or Adjoining (NOT IMMEDIATE BLDG due to potential cockloft fire)
- Bring Halligan, Halligan Hook & LSR
Rowframe - 3 Window - 2nd Due Inside Team
- Initially the top floor of the most severe exposure
- Split into 2 teams and examine exposure 2 & 4 for extention
- Consideration for can bringing 2 6’ hooks

-Position aerial in front of building. When not needed at aerial, go to exposure as directed by officer

Peaked Roof PD - 1st Due Inside Team
- Entrance door providing access to fire area
- Primary consideration for fires on the 1st Floor or Floors above is the main entrance to bldg.
- For cellar fires, access is via the entrance providing the quickest access to fire area. NOT BILCO DOOR’s
Peaked Roof PD (Portable Ladder Ops) - 1st Due Roof / OV Team
- Outside Survey
- VEIS area on upper floors most likely occupied
- VEIS upper floors
- Notify IC and initiate removal of window bars
- Bring Portable ladder, 6’ Halligan Hook and/or Halligan for each member.
Peaked Roof PD (Portable Ladder Ops) - 1st Due LCC
- Ladder Front or Side of Bldg
- Team w/ 2nd LCC and VEIS
Peaked Roof PD (Aerial Ladder Ops) - 1st Due Roof / OV Team
- Perimeter Survey
- Operate from Aerial
- If an aerial ladder rescue is needed, communicate and task to the 2nd arriving ladder.
Peaked Roof PD (Aerial Ladder Ops) - 1st Due LCC
- At the turntable, cover 2 sides of the bldg.
- When fire is controlled, enter bldg and assist with searches and overhaul

- If rescue is needed, communicate and task to the 2nd arriving ladder.

- If BC is not on scene, contact 1st ladder officer as to areas not searched and if assistance is required. THIS IS CRITICAL!
- At top floor fires in attached Pd’s examine exposures for possible extension.

- As determined by life hazard on upper floors
- Vent roof as directed by Officer inside fire area
- Bring portable ladder, 6’ Halligan & Halligan
Peaked Roof PD (Portable Ladder Ops) - 2nd Due LCC
- Front of Bldg.
- Team up w/ 1st LCC for VEIS of upper floors as necessary
- Operate as ordered by company officer
Peaked Roof PD (Aerial Ladder Ops) - 2nd Due Roof / OV Team
- Operate from Aerial
- When 1st aerial is using aerial for VEIS, 2nd aerial shall survey sides and rear and will operate with portable ladders on upper floor in areas with the greatest life hazard.

- Position and operate aerial on upper floors as necessary.
- Once the fire is controlled, enter and assist with searches and overhaul.

- When 1st due is using their basket, survey sides and rear and operate w/ portable ladders on upper floors

- If 2nd ladder will not be used, contact 1st LCC to determine if assistance is required

- Rescue or removal of any visible life hazard
- Placement of roof firefighter on roof
- Assist 1st roof w/ portable ladder placement
- Team up w/ 2nd LCC for VEIS

- 2nd Roof always takes saw to roof
- *NEVER takes LSR

- In attached PD’s, except for assisting LCC in front, check rear and sides to ensure vent has been completed.
- Team up w/ 2nd LCC to examine IDLH exposures

- Assist w/ laddering front of Bldg
- Team up w/ 1st LCC for VEIS
- VEIS upper floors not covered by 1st due OV / LCC
- For TOP FLOOR FIRES w/ exposure problems, LCC may be used to examine exposures not covered by inside team.
Cast Iron & Mill Loft (Cellar & Sub Cellar Fires) 1st Due Inside Team
- 1st Ladder gains access to fire area via interior stairs
- If conditions prevent access to cellar via interior stairs, communicate to 2nd Ladder & IC
- Remain w/ 1st hoseline on floor above searching for life and extention
- 2nd Ladder will gain access to fire area via alternate means w/ 2nd hoseline.
Cast Iron & Mill Loft (Cellar & Sub Cellar Fires) 1st Due - LCC
- Ladder Front of Building
- Provide ventilation by opening up sidewalk access points
- REMAIN in front of building available to reposition ladders as needed

- Determine alternate means of accessing the fire area and communicate to IC
- Communicate specialized tools and equipment needed to access fire area.
- Team w/ another member prior to VEIS
