Entropy

Electronegativity
The “attractiveness” of an atom.
Cell Wall
The protective outer wall of a cell that blocks it from its environment. (only in plant cells)
Plasma Membrane
The semipermeable membrane surrounding the cytoplasm of the cell.
Nucleus
The center of a cell that stores all the genetic material.
Nucleoid Region
The irregularly-shaped region in prokaryotes where the genetic material resides.
Mitochondria
An organelle in which cell respiration occurs.
Chloroplast
A plastid that contains chlorophyll where photosynthesis takes place.
Endoplasmic Reticulum
Network of membrane snuggled up around the nucleus.
Ribosome
Where proteins are produced.
Cytoplasm
The material held within a cell that everything “floats around” in.
Lysosome
Organelle in cytoplasm consisting of degradative enzymes enclosed in membrane.
