CO’s approval, 50 nautical miles from shore, properly packaged and weighted for negative buoyancy, and entries for date, time, ship’s lcoation, and number of bags.
What color tubes are EDTA and what are they used for?
Purple tops. Liquid anticoagulant. Used for CBC, WBC, ESR, A1C. Works by binding calcium so blood can’t clot. 24 hours.
What color is sodium citrate top?
Light blue tops. Used for coagulation studies like PT, PTT, Fibrinogen, and D-Dimer. 4 Hours.
