A

Rinne test

A

Step 1: vibrating tuning fork on mastoid bone
Step 2: when pt can no longer hear sound, place fork close to ear and see how long they can hear that
Results: if bone conduction greater than air conduction -> conductive hearing loss; if air conduction better (nl result), pt may have sensorineural hearing loss in opposite ear
