Porifera
Sponges. numerous intake pores with outflow openings. Similar to the earliest animals
Cnidaria
Asexual, jellyfish like creatures with mouth facing down OR polyps with mouth facing up. All have specialized stinging cells
Echinodermata
Sea Stars, feather stars, seas lilies, and sea cucumbers.
Chordata
Vertebrates (fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals).
Platyhelminthes
Worm-like creatures (flatworms, tapeworms)
Mollusca
Cuttlefish, slugs, snails
Annelida
Earthworms, leech, sand worms. If cut in half, the front may survive, but the back will die. Several hairs may aid in locomotion
Nematoda
Outer layers must be molted. Roundworms. They move through lashing movement since they have no circular muscles.
Arthropoda
Spiders, scorpions, Horseshoe crabs, insects and crustaceans.
