Lab 3: Anterior C/T Counterstrain Flashcards
Which TP is found on posterior surface of the ascending ramus of the mandible and correct treatment position?
- AC1 mandible
- SARA
Correct tx position for AC1 TP?
saRA

Where are the AC2-6 tenderpoints and correct position + alternate?
- Anterior aspect of TP’s of corresponding vertebra
- F SARA
- Alternate is cervical extension w/ SARA

Which TP is located on posterosuperior surface of prox. clavicle where SCM inserts; correct tx position for CS?
- AC7
- F ST RA

Which TP is located on the clavicular insertion of the SCM near the sternal notch; correct position for CS?
- AC8
- F SARA

Where is the TP for AT1 and AT2 located?
- AT1 = midline on suprasternal notch
- AT2 = midline on manurbium at sternal angle (angle of Louis)

What is correct position for CS tx of AT1-AT6; modification?
- Pt supine; doc at head of table
- Cervical and thoracic flexion to level of TP; doc can place knee under head/neck or trunk to use as a wedge to flex pt to involved vertebrae
**Modification = pt seated and doc standing behind, flexing head to level of TP
Which TP is located midline at the level of the costal cartilage relatd to the named vertebrae (at sternal-xiphoid jct.)
AT6

Where is the AT7, AT8, and AT9 TP’s located?
- AT7 = midline or lateral to midline 1/4 distance from tip of xiphoid and umbilicus
- AT8 = midline or lateral to midline 1/2 btw xiphoid and umbilicus
- AT9 = midline or lateral to midline, 3/4 distance from xiphoid to umbilicus

Correct setup and tx for AT7-AT9 CS; if lateral TP vs. midline TP?
- Pt seated; doc standing behind pt w/ foot on side opposite TP (if lateral TP)
- Use leg to SB torso towards TP and rotate torso away
- FSTRA
**If midline TP, flex to level of TP

Where are the AT10-AT12 TP’s located bilaterally?
- AT10 = lateral to midline 1/4 from umbilicus to pubic symphysis (3-4 cm below umbilicus)
- AT11 = lateral to midline 1/2 from umbilicus to pubic symphysis (3-4 cm below umbilicus)
- AT12 = lateral to midline, MID-axillary line on the superoanterior surface of iliac crest

What is the correct setup and technique for AT10-AT12 CS?
- Pt supine w/ doc same side as TP
- Flex pt’s hips/knees and place them on doc’s thigh, then flex further to desired level
- Pull pt’s knees toward doc; pull pt’s ankles towards doc
- FSTRA

Correct position for CS of PT4-6 SP and TP?
- SP = E
- TP = E SA RT
Correct position for CS of PT7-9 TP?
E SA RT
Correct position for CS of PT10-12 TP?
E SA RT
