Compound Predicate
2 or more predicates in one sentence

declaring something. ends with a period

noun or a pronoun that tells who or for who an action is done for. requires a direct object, is usually placed between an action verb and direct object
subject complements
noun, pro., or adj. that comes after a linking verb. it tells something about the subject
direct object
what receives the action of the verb
inverted sentence
when the verb comes before the subject in a sentence
interrogative sentence
a command or request ending with a period
exclamatory sentence
when something is exclaimed with immense emotion. ends with an exclamation mark
complete predicate
includes all words that state the action or condition of the subject
complete subject
includes all words that tell who or what the sentence is about
simple subject
the main word in the complete subject
simple predicate
a verb within the complete predicate. can be more than one word
