What is the function of the scrotum?
This regulates the temperature of the testicles, the sperm needs a certain temperature to function properly.
What is the function of the sperm duct?
This carries the sperm to the glands and into the urethra.
What is the function of the glands?
This puts pre-ejaculate/pre-cum into the sperm to liquidise it and make a substance called ‘semen’.
What is the function of the prostate?
This puts pre-ejaculate/pre-cum into the sperm to liquidise it and make a substance called ‘semen’.
What is the function of the urethra?
This is a tube which urine and semen both go through.
What is the function of the penis?
The urine comes out of it and the semen gets ejaculated out of it.
What is the function of the vagina?
This is where the penis goes into to transfer the semen into the female reproductive system.
What is the function of the cervix?
This doesn’t let the embryo/foetus fall out of the uterus.
What is the function of the uterus?
This is where the embryo/foetus grows when pregnant.
What is the function of the uterine lining?
This prepares for implantation and it is where implantation occurs. If there is an absence of implantation, it then sheds and becomes a small amount of blood which is then excreted, menstruation.
What is the function of the oviduct?
This is where fertilisation occurs. It also transfers the ovum or zygote from the ovary towards the uterine lining.
What is the function of the ovary?
This is where the ovums are produced and released from.
