Q

What are subject variable?

A
  • Attributes that exist before the study or occur naturally during it e.g age, phone use, etc.
  • Can change if the same ppt comes through on two sep days
  • You are not in control, the ppt comes into the room with them.

Q

What are Quasi-experimental designs?

A
  • Contains a manipulated variable (IV)
  • Also contains a subject variable
  • Cannot be randomly assignment as it can not be manipulated.
  • Can there be a third variable affecting the observed relation? Cant say causal

Q

What are correlational designs?

A
  • Involves 2+ variables that you DO NOT manipulate experimentally.
  • Stats technique
  • Has third variable issues
  • Correlation does not equal causation
