What is heart rate?
The number of times the heart beats per minute
What is resting heart rate?
The heart rate at rest (usually 60-80bpm)
What is working heart rate?
The heart rate during or immediately after exercise
What is max heart rate?
220 - your age = MHR
What is recovery rate?
how long it takes for heart rate to return to its resting level after training
What is warm up target zone?
As we take part in a warm, we aim to send
blood around our body to warm our muscles
up

What is the fat burning target zone?
We start to burn fat at around 60-70% of our
maximum
What is the Aerobic target zone?
Aerobic target zone is when a person is working at
between 60-80% of the maximum heart rate
What is the anaerobic target zone?
Anaerobic target zone is when a person is when they
are working without oxygen. The athlete is relying on
limited oxygen supplies
Above 80%
