What does ‘urbanisation’ mean?
More of the world’s population are now living in cities compared to rural areas.
What does ‘below average disposable income’ mean?
Means less money is spent in shops and in local economy.
What does ‘air pollution’ mean?
Increase of people living in cities causes increased traffic leading to more air pollution and can lead to health problems.
What does ‘poor health’ mean?
Puts pressure on the NHS and means they are out of work.
What does ‘increasing waste’ mean?
More people in urban areas means more waste.
What does ‘urban area’ mean?
A settlement that has a high population density. They are often towns or cities.
What does ‘unemployment’ mean?
People without work and claiming benefits.
What does ‘destruction of habitats’ mean?
Houses built on green space can destroy habitats of species.
