What is retirement migration?
Retirement migration is when older people decide to retire to a different part of the UK
What does RUM cause?
Less job opportunities means people move to an area where may be more job opportunities, from rural to urban.
What is counter urbanisation?
Counter urbanisation is when people leave the cities to go to move to the rural areas.
Why does the south west of England attract many retirement migrants?
SW of the UK attracts many retirement migrant as it has scenic views, tranquillity, a slower pace of life and a sense of community
What would higher house prices force many young adults to do?
Higher house prices force many young adults to leave the area as they cannot afford to live there, so the population structure shows a shortage of young adults and children.
