A deficiency in uroporphyrinogen decarboxylase
What are the presentations of Poryphyria Cutanea Tarda?
Photosensitivity, dark urine, blistering, hyperpigmentation
What causes Acute Intermittent Porphyria?
A deficiency in Porphobilinogen deaminase
What are the presentations of Acute Intermittent Porphyria?
Paranoia, abdominal pain, dark urine, but NO photosensitivity
What causes Lead Poisoning?
Inhibition of ALA dehydratase and Ferrochelatase
What are the presentations of Lead poisoning?
Memory disorders, reduced attention span, lead lining bones, and microcytic anemia
what is Jaundice?
The yellow discoloration of skin and sclera
What causes jaundice?
Accumulation of bilirubin in plasma
What is the accumulation of bilirubin in the basal ganglia of the brain called?
