-merchants could not sell their goods and the colonies economy suffered
-americans colonists were angry when an act made areas claimed by colonists British territory
-the colonists protested to every act because they were very harsh.

Boston tea party
a group of colonists in 1773 disguised as Indians boarded three ships and opened about 342 chests of tea and spilled all of the tea out into the Boston harbor to protest against british taxation. They wanted to let the British know they weren’t happy without hurting people.
