- use the cloud to operate the machines and AI works through the internet to communicate with other machines on the shop floor

?What is a big problem for WAN connections on the shop floor?
A
- RIsk of cyber attacks have increased exponentially
- Security is the biggest WAN concern
- Then performance than cost
- defence is moving from single barriers to protect on multiple levels, each level protects the other levels and an attacker must spend time and effort on each transition
- Protection is optimised only by implementing multiple complementary measures simultaneously
