An urban area is a built-up area such as a town or city

A rural area is an area of countryside.

Urbanisation is the process of the increasing amount of population living in urban areas. It is the increase of proportion of people living in towns and cities. It is drived by the amount of money contained in these areas considering 80% of the world’s GDP is produced in these areas
When did urbanisation first occur?
Urbanisation first occured in HIC’s during the industrial revolution
Where is the rate of urbanisation greater today?
The rate of urbanisation is greater in LIC’s than HIC’s because LIC’s are developing and more people are more in need of money and they result to migrating to urban areas to find it
