Egoic alt –> selfless actions that ultimately serve one’s own self interest

Deep: genuinly changing one’s emotions
Surface: faking one’s emotion

Way to manipulate peoples choices to lead to a decision
Libertarian paternalism
freedom of choice but guiding people toward beneficial outcomes
Default options
pre-set options that people stick to due to inertia / fatigue

Nudges try to correct people decision making caused by cognitive biases

Nuding False assumption 1: people make choices that are in their best interest
misconceptions:
1. it is possible to avoid influencing people’s choices
2. paternalism always involves coercion
Red cape vs green cape
Red: power to fight against. look for problems…to eliminate them
Green: look for opportunities…to realize them. fight for things
ex. in gardening
weeding –> redcape
planting seeds –> green cape
Negativity bias
Negatives are ‘louder’, may be life saving
Positives are quieter, may be life enhancing
positive > negative emotions ratio
Decrease rumination/ the evil of IPT
