Q

What is the burgess model

A

The burgess model is a concentric ring model with three or more locations, burgess says the city is older at the core and newer nearer the fringes of the city, but a problem with this model is he never took into consideration rivers or hills so cities will need to form around them instead of being perfect rings

Q

A

There is shops and offices in the cbd because the land value is so high so they are the only land use that can afford the land. The cbd is the oldest part of the city so that’s why you expect to find churches and older buildings.
