Social Darwinism 6.1
Came from Charles Darwin’s theory of biological evolution, and applied this to society. Uses the “survival of the fittest” theory, originally used for animals, to claim that the spread of European and Americas power shows the superiority of whites.
LO- This ideology of European superiority further justified the spread of imperialism.
Belgian Congo 6.2
Led to the Congolonese genocide due to it being taken over by King Leopold II. Who enslaved the Congolese people and murdered about 5-13 million. After King Leopold II, Congo is taken over by higher-ups in Belgium.

These were colonies(Australia and New Zealand) in Oceania that were taken over by the British and many British people started to move their , outnumbering the British.

Since the British East India company was occupying more land in India day by day.Used gun cartridges soaked in pig and cow fat, which was offensive to both Muslims and Hindus.Sepoys(Indian soldiers fighting under the British) started to fight the British East India Company.Queen victoria sent in troops to squash the rebellion and was the only way the British won.

A resistance in Africa against the British, since this place in Southern Africa had constant fighting with the British.When the cattle started getting sick, Xhosa was led to believe that purging the cattle along with their crops , could rid them of the British existence,further allowing them to prosper.However, things did not go planned the way she thought it would and led to a famine.,

Started when the British decided to bring in Opium and the China started to bring in efforts of resisting it.With that, the British started bringing it in illegaly.

STarted after the abolitionist movement and losing slaves , Europeans looked for indentured servitude to fill their needs cheaply.With this they predominatly used Chinese and Indians to work in their plantantions
Migrant workers (include Japanese and Argentinians) 6.6
Many voluntary migrant workers who would go either on seasonal migrations just to work or stay there permanentely.Japan went to Pacific nations and peru for contract work.In exchange would come for US education.British in Argentina invested a lot of money included building roads and banks.Lot of Italians moved to Argentina.
