A

A

When the Japanese attacked Papua New Guinea, many of the Australian soldiers were off fighting the war in Europe, so the Australian government sent reserve forces to Papua New Guinea.

Around 5000 men were shipped off to Port Moresby in December 1941. The men weren’t very trained, they didn’t have any modern equipment and many of them were very young.
