What is plate reverb?
Plate reverb is when you have a 0.7mm think metal plate, and you put a transducer (speaker) one side of the plate and that get picked up by a pickup.

What are the pros and cons of plate reverb?
Pros:
Unique sounds, inexpensive
Cons:
Large plates are impractical
what does a digital reverb unit allow you to do?
Allows you to recreate the sounds of a particular space. Notches allow you to increase the reverb of certain frequencies.
What are the pros and cons of digital reverb units?
Pros: you can remove the reverb. Mary variables. Can be done in the studio at home.
Cons: It’s heavy and expensive.
what is a mini disc and how is it recorded?
A minidisc is a disc of 64mm diameter inside a plastic shell.
It is recorded using a laser to alter magnetic information on the disc. In order to alter the information, the disc has to be heated to a high temperature, meaning that if left on a desk near a magnet, it should remain unaffected, unless you heat the disc to the required 180°C.

What is a Compact Disc (CD)?
A compact disc is a portable storage medium that can be used to record, store and play backaudio, video and other data in digital form.
A standard compact disc measures 120 mm, across, is 1.2 mm thick, weighs between 15 and 20 grams; they have a capacity of 80 minutes of audio.
How do you record onto a CD?
A CD works by focusing a 780 nanometer wavelength semiconductor laser onto a single track of the disc. As the disc rotates, the laser beam measures differences in the way light is reflected off the polycarbonate layer on the bottom of the disc, converting it to sound.
When were CDs mainly used?
1985s - 2010
What is an MP3 player?
It’s a compressed digital audio file. A player stores these files on a memory chip so that you can play it back at your leisure. Contains a miniature hard disk drive, which can store huge quantities of data.
MP3s usually contain music, but the format is also used for general audio files such as audiobooks and podcasts.

It goes through every frequency and records the reverb; and then when you apply it to your sound. it recreates that space.
