It was created, replacing the Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA).
What is Quality Improvement Organization (QIO)?
CMC announced that peer review organization and they’ll continue to perform quality control and utilization review of health care furnished to the Medicare beneficiary.
What is secondary care?
The PCP refers their patient to a specialist such a pulmonologist or a neurologist.
What is a Health Care Proxy?
It is a legal document in which the patient chooses another person to make decisions on their behalf if they are uncapable of making their own decisions.
What is a living will?
It is the patient’s instructions about the use of life-sustaining treatments.
What is a do not resuscitate (DNR)?
It is documented in the patient’s chart for the physician or nurse staff to not revive the patient if the heartbeat or breathing stops.
What does a Cancer Registrar do?
A credentialed certified tumor registrar (CTR) includes using computerized registry software to conduct lifetime follow ups on each cancer patient. Cancer registrars electronically transmit data to the state and national agencies.
What is a Joint Commission?
It was an equal substitute to the CMC inspections. The joint commission perform independent quality evaluations of healthcare organizations and programs.
