Q

Frequency

A

Select imaging frequency based on patient anatomy and type of exam.

Better tissue resolution of superficial structures is attenuated with higher frequencies. Lower imaging frequency is used for different structures, but image definition for more superficial structures will be lost

Q

TGC

A

Equalize differences in received echo amplitudes due to reflector strength. Returning echoes from deep in the body are amplified so information on deeper structures can be received

Q

Print/store key

A

Activate programmed storage device to store frozen image. The system will remain in freeze until image is stored

17
Q

Trackball

A
  1. Change the scan area for the sector size and color box size or Doppler and Doppler application
  2. Guide cursor on the screen
  3. Position measurement calibers during freeze mode

A sept or enter key allow sonographer to set the selection made through the trackball function. In systems with the same loop, 2-D images can be schooled in real time. TracFone conserve additional functions depending on the system

18
Q

Distance

A

Place calipers for distance measurements.

19
Q

Trace/ellipse

A

Outline for a curve or circumference measurements

20
Q

Measure

A

Complete measurements and display results to calculate volume measurements

21
Q

Off

A

Erase cursors, outlines, and caliper results

22
Q

Body pattern

A

Display body pattern to indicate patient positioning. Pattern is displayed on the monitor screen and on images

23
Q

Color Doppler/power doppler/ m mode

A

Activates color or power Doppler, post wave, and or M mode imaging. Imaging and trackball will change based on which imaging mode is activated

24
Q

Monitor controls

A

Controls on the system monitor that can be adjusted to improve visualization of images. Brightness and contrast controls for Jermaine controls on the display monitor.
Schedule adjust light output for the image. Contrast control adjust the difference in the light and dark parts of damage note maintaining a very high display contrast can eventually damage the monitor screen. Avoid using high display contrast settings for extended periods of time see this is the manufacturers guidelines are recommended contrast brightness and temperature settings
