Pathophysiology
A
- OA as inflammatory disease (total joint failure with
inflamm) - OA bc of metabolic disease (body fat releases
cytokines + adipokines~ joint damage, obesity in OA
causes high joint load

Physical features
A
- palp tibial and femoral condyles, pat, tibiofemoral joint line
- knee effusion test (swipe and tap)
- active knee mvts
- passive knee mvts (F+E and quad)
- hip FADIR

Initial Management
A
Optimal tissue loading, manual therapy (massage, mobs~ MWM), gentle exercises for pain relief, taping, exercises to limit strength & fitness decay. NSAIDS good

- restore quads strength
- restore hip flexor strength
- restore isolated strength
- restore functional strength
- functional rehab - load management
