Iliotibial Band Syndrome (ITB Syn)
A
- over training, running on uneven surface
- lat knee pain as ITB rubs over lat fem condyle, tender Gerdy’s tubercle
- RICE (rest, ice, elevation, compression), heat, NSAIDs, steroid injection, PT (ITB and TFL stretching, hip adductor strengthening

Pes anserine bursitis
A
- pain and tenderness at medial prox tibia
- RICE, heat, NSAIDs, steroid inj, PT (sartorius, gracilis, hamstring stretching and modalities)

Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome
A
- overuse, muscular imbalance, pes planus (flat foot), increased Q angle
- anterior knee pain worse with prolonged sitting or descending stairs
- RICE, PT to address the biomechanical imbalances, quad strengthening

Ligament or Meniscus Disruption
A
- excessive pivoting or cutting, hyperext or hyperflex, lateral trauma
- RICE, NSAIDs, PT and ortho or physiatry referrals

A
- Meniscal tear with fragment : especially if poor extension
- Loose body
- Patellofemoral or tibiofemoral cartilage injury
- Patellar instability / sublux / dislocation / malalignment
- Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome

- Loose body
- Quad weakness

- Any bursitis / tendinitis
