murder of children is violent and upsetting, children are symbollic of innocence. they cannot protect themselves
“mother” is very emotive- reminds those watching how young and helpless he is, showing how evil macbeth has become

macduff wants to rid his country of the tyrant macbeth
macduff does not want to be king but he is brave and heroic in killing macbeth
he is determined to get revenge after finding out about the murder of his family
he is loyal to malcolm
how is macbeth a tyrant
he is a ruler who has unlimited power over other people, and uses it unfairly and cruelly
he allows his desire for power to drive his actions. He is so afraid of losing the throne that he starts killing anyone who represents a threat to his reign. He resorts to violence in order to solve problems, instead of trying to find a way to preserve lives.

malcolm lies to macduff, claiming he is greedy stating:
he is willing to cause mayhem among people

It turns out Malcolm is none of these things and is just testing Macduff. He states: “my first ______ __________ Was this upon _______”

what does malcolm show himself to be at the end of the play
shows himself to be a loyal potential king, ready to defend his country- he calls upon a army of “ten thousand war like men”
after the battle hes seen as an honourable king like his father

Macduff and Malcolm are speaking of the fate of Scotland in Macbeth’s hands. Macduff believes Scotland is “wounded” from all the tyranny that Macbeth has caused.

suggests Macbeth is oppressing Scotland and it is descending into evil and darkness
