Define speed.
Rate of change of distance (with respect to time).
Define displacement.
Shortest distance between two points on the line of travel independent of path- distance in a given direction.
Define velocity.
Rate of change of displacement.
Define instantaneous speed.
The rate of change of distance at a given instant.
Define acceleration.
The rate of change of velocity per unit time.
Explain what is meant by rate of change?
Change in a quantity relative to another quantity, usually time.
Define average speed.
The total distance travelled divided by the time taken to travel that distance.
Define average velocity.
The total displacement divided by the total time taken to achieve that displacement.
Define uniform motion.
Motion with no change in velocity, i.e zero acceleration.
