The upthrust exerted on a body immersed in a fluid, whether full or partially submerged, is equal to the weight of the fluid that the body displaces.

A
The upward buoyant force exerted on an object immersed in a fluid due to the pressure difference of a fluid at the top and bottom of the body, equal in magnitude to the weight of the displaced fluid.
