What are slides on a guitar?
Grinding your finger along the string from one fret to the other to make a sliding noise on the same string.
Bend
Where you bend the string to turn it into a higher or lower pitch.
Pull off
Where you quickly lift your finger off the string to make an underneath sound.
Vibrato
Shaking a string instrument such as a guitar to make a wavy noise on one or multiple notes at the same time.

Where multiple parts are put into one recording.

The frequency response of an audio signal.
Flanger
An electronic device which alters a sound signal to change the sound of an instrument.
Distortion
Where an instrument is exaggerated to make it sound more metallic and earthy, most commonly used in rock songs.

An echo.
Syllabic
Where the melody is in sync with the syllables pronounced in each word of the vocals.
Homophonic
Where most of the parts ae similar to the melody however there are multiple parts.
Imitation
Where parts copy each other.
Layering
Applying parts on top of each other for a musical effect.
Panning
Manipulating sound coming from a speaker.
Antiphonal
Where two parts are separated across the room from each other so the parts sound broke, this is commonly used in a church choir.

Equally spaced triads.
Dissonance
The clashing of notes.
Seventh chords
When you add the seventh note of the chords scale on top of a regular triad or chord.
Circle of fifths
A table used to help interpret and switch between keys with ease.
Extended chords
When you add other notes on the end of a triad to make a different sound in the chord.

Held or repeated note.
