Kicking a Ball Flashcards

Q

Movement and Joint - kicking a ball

A

Knee Joint - Bi condylar modified synovial hinge joint - producing flexion - with normal range being +/- 135 degrees. 6 degrees of movement
Ankle joint - Talocural joint , synovial hinge joint / mortise and tenon joint - producing dorsiflexion -normal range being 20 degrees. 2 degrees of movement.
Hip Joint - Polyaxial Synovial ball and socket joint. 3 degrees of movement with normal range of adduction being 20-30 degrees.

Q

Muscles producing Movement - knee_ kicking a ball

A

In knee Flexion the hamstrings are the Agonists - Bicep Femoris , Semitendinosus, Semimembranosus, all supplied by the sciatic nerve.

In knee Flexion the Quadriceps are the Antagonists (vasti group) - vastus medialis, vastus lateralis and vastus intermedius. Insertion = quadriceps tendon.
